About ME

I am a fourth year Ph.D student at the Department of Statistical Science, Duke University.

Before studying in Duke University, I received a M.S in Probability and Mathematical Statistics from
Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, P.R.China
and a B.S in Information and Computational Science from College of Mathematics and Econometrics,
Hunan University, Changsha, Hunan, P.R.China

Ph.D. Research Work

My advisor is Professor James O. Berger. Current collaborations of my research include applications in psychometrics, education, econometrics, finance and bioscience. One focus of my Ph.D. research work is on analyzing longitudinal dichotomous data observed at irregular time points for adaptive educational tests. A new type of state space model is considered, under the framework of item response theory, to capture dynamic changes in latent traits. Another primary part of research work involves developing a new perspective on estimating shape constrained functions via Gaussian processes. My current project focuses on an objective Bayesian approach to subgroup analysis in clinical trials, with application to biomarkers.
