Vinicius received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Statistical Science in the Graduate School of Duke University (2011). In 2004, he received a Bachelors degree in Statistics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG, Brazil) working with Dr. Rosangela Loschi. In 2006, he received a Masters of Statistics degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, Brazil) under the supervision of Prof. Dani Gamerman. In 2009, Vinicius completed his Masters of Statistics degree at Duke University.
His research interests include Bayesian computational methods, spatial statistics, sparse latent factor models, and statistical modeling of high-dimensional gene expression data.
