Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. at Duke University in Statistics and Decision Sciences. That places me in Durham, North Carolina (by way of California). Prior to arriving at Duke, I spent a couple years obtaining my Master's degree in Scientific Computing at Stanford University. My original degree is in Mathematics, from the University Of California, Davis. It seems that the years have been rolling by quite steadily.
Before heading back to school, I spent 5 years racing my bicycle across the U.S. and Europe. Those years were absolutely fabulous, and taught me so much about dedication, determination, victory, defeat, pain and bliss. I would have loved to race my bike as a career, but it turns out that I am merely mortal... and the lessons of defeat happened all to regularly and victories were sparse. Now, I simply ride for the joy of it and leave the racing to the professionals and aspiring amateurs.
I've held quite a few jobs in my life. They follow as: mowing Lawns, washing cars, working at a hot dog restaraunt, handing out flyers, making pizzas, mechanic at a bike shop, pizza delivery driver, clerk at a super market, working at a vitamin store, clothing retail, bicycle messenger, waiter, bartender, bicycle racer, analyst, software engineer, teaching assitant, and author. All of these experiences have helped sculpt me into the person I am today, and I thank all of those who had faith in me and hired me.
