Ioanna Manolopoulou

Welcome to my homepage!

I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistical Science at Duke University. I spent the previous two years as a postdoctoral associate working with Mike West and a postdoctoral fellow of the Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute (SAMSI) as part of the Sequential Monte Carlo workshop .

I moved to Durham NC from Cambridge UK, where I did my PhD under the supervision of Prof. S. Tavaré from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics and previously Prof. S.P. Brooks from the Statistical Laboratory. My PhD thesis was on phylogeographic methods, with title A Bayesian approach to Nested Clade Analysis. You can find a brief CV here.

My research interests lie in Sequential Monte Carlo and Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods, used in a variety of areas of applications. You can find more information on my research page.
