This is an applied book with a presentation based on generalized linear models. It refers to R and S-Plus for examples. Topics include generalized linear models, logistic regression, Poisson regression, and graphical models. Homework will be assigned each week, and there will be a mid-term and final exam. The prerequisites are knowledge of linear algebra and multivariable calculus, familiarity with standard probability distributions, and the willingness to learn and use R or S-Plus for computations.
