About Me:
Education/Work:
I am a fifth year Ph.D. student within the Institute of Statistics and Decision Sciences (ISDS) at Duke University. In 1998 and 1999, I received a B.S. in Biometry/Statistics and an M.A.T. (Masters in the Art of Teaching) in Curriculum Development at Cornell University (Go Big Red!) respectively. Prior to entering graduate school at Duke, I worked for two years in research and development at Battelle Memorial Institute of Columbus, Ohio within the Statistics and Data Analysis Systems Department.
Family:
I was born, raised, and educated in the "gorges" Ithaca, NY. Here are my wonderful parents and impressive brother.

Hobbies/Activities:
When I was younger I was heavily involved with sports, particularly soccer, ice hockey, and track In fact, I was able to play varsity soccer and varsity ice hockey all four years I attended Cornell. During the summers of 2000 and 2001, I continued to play soccer for the Cincinnati Ladyhawks while I worked in Columbus, OH. As a graduate student however, making the commitment to an organized team is extremely difficult. Hence, I tend to go for long runs and bike rides on my 2002 Specialized Allez Sport whenever I can. Last year, I ran in my first trail marathon (time: 3 hours, 23 minutes), and this year I completed my first century ride (6 hours, 45 minutes).
I am a big fan of hiking. It is a great way to exercise, feel the fresh air, and see just how pretty mother nature can be! My family and I head to the Colorado Rocky Mountains every year. One year we hiked to West Lost Lake. Check out the water, I mean sky, I mean water...

My latest hobby is bird watching! Though I am far from considering myself an avid "bird watcher", I thoroughly enjoy my new bird feeder, and I try to identify EVERY bird that I see. Here is a link to Cornell's beautiful, ornithology laboratory.
