Eric Vance's CV

About me:

I am a research assistant professor in the Department of Statistics at Virginia Tech. As the Director of the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis (LISA) I supervise 23 graduate students in fulfilling LISA's mission of providing statistical consultation, collaboration, and education to the Virginia Tech community.

In 2008 I earned a Ph.D. in Statistical Science from Duke University. At Duke I was an instructor, TA, and research assistant, and was heavily involved in student groups within GPSC.

In 1997 I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a$ mathematics, economics, and statistics.
Then I traveled around the world for three and a half out of the next five years through Europe, South and SE Asia, and Aus/NZ (1997-1999); C. and S. America (2000-2001); and Africa (2002).
