My Africa Page

I traveled in Africa for six months from February to August 2002.

• I started in Spain, took the ferry to Morocco, and hitchhiked across the Sahara through Mauritania to Senegal (month 1).
  

  Then Mali (including a trek through the cliff dwellings of the Dogon Country, and riding a canoe to Timbuktu), Burkina Faso, and Ghana (month 2).
  

  I then flew to Ethiopia (month 3).
  

  Kenya (safaris), Uganda (mountain gorillas), and Tanzania (Mt. Kilimanjaro) were next (month 4).
  

  In (month 5) I traveled around Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia.
  

  South Africa in a rental car finished the trip (month 6).
