Probability and Statistical Inference

In this course we learn about the use of probability and statistics in the natural and social sciences, and for public policy. The course requires a basic knowledge of simple calculus. It is more advanced that STA 101; in particular, for those majoring in Economics, STA 111 (103) is preferred.  

The course will cover the following topics: 

  • Linear and nonlinear regression
  • Probability models
  • Experimental design 
  • Hypothesis testing 
  • Estimation
