Mitchell Prize

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 Mitchell Prize . Deadline for submissions is 31 December 2008. Details follow.

The 2008 Mitchell Prize is awarded in recognition of an outstanding paper where a Bayesian analysis has been used to solve an important applied problem. The Prize includes a commemorative plaque an award of $1,000.

Eligible papers for the 2008 Mitchell Prize must be published or accepted in a refereed journal or conference proceedings on or after 1 January 2006. A paper may be nominated by any of its authors or by any ISBA or SBSS member. A nomination consists of the following:

Papers will be evaluated by the Mitchell Award Committee, appointed by the ISBA Prize Committee. The winner will be announced at the 2009 Joint Statistics Meetings (JSM).
